Precious As Gold



I would like to equate
The importance of true, loyal
Dedicated and honest friends
To a sparkling gold


A true friend gives you
Assurance that he will be
There for you
Come hell or high waters


Loyalty to a friend
Will never question
How far you can remain
With him whatever the cost


Dedication is being there
For a friend when needed
Especially in times of sorrows
And inconsolable troubles


An honest friend never compromises
And will never lie to you
This gives you peace of mind
And total reliance on him


Now, isn’t a true, loyal, dedicated and honest friend
Is like a gold; sparkling, precious
Worthy, treasured, radiant
And is worth more than a thousand relatives?


A Friend is like a gold

    I agree true friends are more precious than gold. I liked the way you laid out your writing with the pictures. Well done.

    Regarding your comments on my piece "Sunrise Dream". I am trying to relate how materialistic we can be. How sometimes we want something and, in the end, after we have it the desire or novelty is gone. The golden sun rays (the golden dust or mistress) is something desirable, try as I may I cannot catch it, so I cry until my hands are wet. This helps me catch the dust. After I have collected the golden dust and leave with my prize, I am not certain I care anyway. Hopefully, this explains what I was trying to say. I am amazed at how the prompt "gold" brought this work out. Interesting how the mind works. Have a great day.
