Zenki.......

cute child with dog by e-zoneonline

Brownie she was, but named her Zenki
Chasing her tail, she was pretty funny
Yelping and barking at every passing sound
Bringing much laughter to kids around

Pampered and cared, she loved to play
Catching the ball with kids on a sunny day
Craving for attention on days that rained
Till the kids gave it endlessly she whined

Giving mirth to kids back from class
She loved to roll joyously on the grass
Dreaming of fun with meaty bone
And of the cookies often thrown

She was much loved by every kid
And treated like a baby splendid
Giving her bath that made her happy
And she in turn licked with tongue very slimy

Then on one fateful day, she ran into the woods
We don’t know in what varying moods
Till we found her lying in the rice plain
Almost breathless and blue, frothing with pain

The culprit we knew was a venomous viper
As we saw it hurriedly into the bushes slither
Alas as the venom spread she breathed her last
With her soulful gaze on my kids held steadfast

She sadly left us all, after 10 years of playing with my kids. Whenever we see one like her on the streets, it reminds us of the loving and playful Zenki. My kids christened her  Zenki, a cartoon character very familiar to them, if I were not mistaken.

Language of the Heart!

If the word spoken
Comes straight from the heart
Is it love fluently spoken?

If the feeling displayed
Is shown with respect
Is it love fluently spoken?

If he looks in your eyes
And you melt in his gaze
Is it love fluently spoken?

If a smile makes your heart
Skip a bit, goes pitter, patter
Is it love fluently spoken?

We don't need to say a word or two
As action speaks louder than words
Is it love fluently spoken?

Quagmire

Posing as a decent and lovable guy
Luring her to believe in his decency
Revealing nothing but his honesty
He was truly a wicked personality
As evil as a hated devil could be.

He pushed her deep into a quagmire
Of ignominy and sheer hopelessness
In scuttling her escape he was ruthless
Ensuring her total dependence on him
And exploited to meet his every whim

Deeper, deeper driven into desperation
She steeled her mind into strong determination
To escape from his clutches her only aspiration
She resisted all his acts of abomination
With force only to face his cruel indignation

Little by little, she garnered the needed support
From a kind soul with whom she held rapport
Thanks to him, a brave new person she had become
Fearless, valiant and ready to face the outcome
When the promised help would soon come

For the wickedness he had employed
For debasing her with all his might
For the ruthless times he dealt with her
For the tacit moments of sheer shame
He would be made to own full blame

When rescue finally came from forces of law
The evil man could not escape from their steely claw
The menace needed a woman as tough as her
Who was not broken in spirit or shaken by fear
Till the culprit paid a price that was too dear

Thanks to her and her relentless stand
Many were saved from further disgrace
And the man despised by all for his depravity
Was taken to jail for being held in long captivity
And the quagmire was no more a cesspool.

Subtle Deception

Deception comes in all manner
Clothed like a gentle sheep
The real wolf speaking as angel
The evil intent cleverly hidden deep

For deception readily to happen
There’s a greedy and lying lumpen
And a gullible and credulous person
Learning the hard way a bitter lesson

Deception is nothing but cheating
Promising a moon for a measly nothing
The end may justify his crooked means
The cheater in public eye surely demeans

Oh I wish I can his signs trace
His true colours showing on surface
For people to put him in proper place
By ripping such predator's heartless face.

It is better to suffer deception alone, than to involve a hundred or more.

Breathless Charm!

Yonder I see a stretch of tulips dancing
in the sun, with colors galore and shining
my eyes could only passionately feast
on the charm of this sumptuous treat
of robust and fluttering flowers!

A Heavenly Fantasy

I dreamed I was floating
On a wondrous space wafting
I saw a place enchanting
A garden with flowers so adoring
I drifted close by touching
Their delicate, colorful petals worth admiring
while still wet with the dews of the morning

I flapped my wings as I fly
And saw multi-colored butterflies
Sitting on  buds of flowers that lie
Trying to suck all the nectar like spies
And like hungry li'l babies that cry
Only the flowers' nectar could pacify

I tilted my head a little
Lo, I saw a handsome knight from a castle
Clad in shining armor with some sinewy muscle
He beckoned me with  a motion to nestle
And to clasp his manly hands tired from a battle
I did with strange emotions and was shy a little
I felt a thrill for his being so gentle
As we flew into a space ornamental
With feelings alien and sentimental

Like angels we happily floated
Hand in hand we innocently gloated
Over  glances that were stolen
and that were done too often
Yes, with sweet and mesmerizing smile
Our warm arms entwined in a while

I tried to utter a word to confer
Wishing to ask where we were
But he tenderly silenced me with a glee
Touching my quivering lips with fingers free
His gentle act sent me thrills and shiver
I knew, heaven it is, must be the answer...
